Guide to using the highlighter in the toolbar

Once an online article is saved into a Scrible library, select the highlighter icon in the toolbar and select the text...or select the text first, then choose the highlighter icon.

Choose from a variety of colors by clicking on the dropdown button next to the highlighter icon.

Experiment with annotating both sides of an argument in two different colors or assigning each person a different highlighter color while working on a group project. The annotation key in Edu Pro keeps the colors and topics organized.

Our Edu Pro plans include 32 colors for highlighting, while the free Scrible accounts include four.

Click on a highlight to access the context menu.

The Edu Pro menu has 6 options:

1. permalink: when viewed will bring the user directly to this highlighted passage within the saved source

2. change the highlight color

3. tag the highlight

4. add a comment to this highlighted text

5. listen to this highlighted text read aloud

6. remove this highlight

The free Edu K-12 menu has 5 options:

1. permalink: when viewed will bring the user directly to this highlighted passage within the saved source

2. change the highlight color

3. add a comment to this highlighted text

4. listen to this highlighted text read aloud

5. remove this highlight

The free Basic menu has 4 options:

1. permalink: when viewed will bring the user directly to this highlighted passage within the saved source

2. change the highlight color

3. add a comment to this highlighted text

4. remove this highlight
