To enroll in kindergarten, a child must be five years old on or before September 1.
To enroll in Pre-K and Kindergarten, parents are required to complete online registration. Please complete online registration now so that we can prepare for the 2022-2023 school year.
Pre-K registration for 2022-2023 is now open for children who will be four years old on or before September 1.
Kindergarten registration for 2022-2023 will begin April 25, 2022 for children who will be five years old on or before September 1.
To register a child for school, you must reside at the same Screven County address as the child, have primary charge and responsibility of the child, and be one of the following:
A parent, natural or adoptive (Step-parents may not register a child for school)
A legal guardian with a court-issued guardianship order
A grandparent with a properly executed Grandparent Power of Attorney which authorizes school registration.
A person with a properly executed Kinship Caregiver Affidavit which authorizes school registration (This requires approval from a school system social worker.)
A foster parent with proof of student placement from the Department of Family & Children Services or a representative thereof
You will need the following information:
Household information -- address and phone numbers
Parent information -- work and cell phone numbers, email addresses, and photo identification
Student information -- demographic information (legal name, social security number, etc.) and types of services (Special Education IEP, 504s, Gifted, etc. )
Emergency contact -- phone numbers
Medical information -- primary care provider, medical conditions, current medications
Previous school -- address and phone number
Transportation information
These documents are required to register a student:
Certified Birth Certificate
You may order a birth certificate online directly from Georgia’s State Office of Vital Records using Official Vital Event Records (ROVER)
Social Security Card
Georgia Department of Public Health Form 3300
Current Georgia Certificate of Immunization Form 3231
Proof of Residency: A current utility (water, electric, or cable) bill with a 911 address or current rental lease can be accepted as proof of residency.
For Pre-K only: If the child and/or family participates in one of the following: Food Stamps, SSI, Medicaid, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Child and Parent Services (CAPS) program, current documentation must be provided
Please note: During the online registration process, you will be asked to upload the required documents. IMPORTANT:
After you complete the first registration screen, you will receive an email with a link that will take you to your application.
When you begin your application, make note of your application number. You will need it if you have to return to your application.
What happens after you submit an application?
Once your registration application is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. The confirmation email will contain your application number.
You will receive another email when your application has been approved or placed on hold for additional information.
