Your Adventurous Journey is a way for you to get out, explore, and put in place the skills you have learnt during Scouting.
Your Adventurous Journey should occur whilst working on Milestone 3.
Joey Scouts
In the Joey Scout Section, youth members must participate in a 3-hour adventure, including rest breaks. The Unit Council should be involved in the planning and reviewing of the Adventurous Journey. An adult Leader may plan the journey, but this should be in conjunction with the Unit Council.
The Unit Council and an adult Leader should know who is completing their Adventurous Journey and when.
The Unit Council, or members of the Unit, should be involved in the review of the Adventurous

At least 3 hours duration
Done as a Patrol activity
Every Joey Scout, who is also working on (or finished) Milestone 3, participating can earn this part of the award however it is preferred that the Joey Scouts are involved in the planning and reviewing of the journey

You can choose how you reflect on your journey. This might be a conversation, a video, some photos, some drawings/pictures, a report or something completely different
Share your reflection with your Unit
Cub Scouts
The Adventurous Journey for the Scout section is 4 hours duration
The Unit Council and an adult Leader should know who is completing their Adventurous Journey and when.
The Unit Council, or members of the Unit, should be involved in the review of the Adventurous

Connecting you with nature and the outdoors
At least 4 hours duration
Done as a Patrol activity

You should consult with a skilled Mentor about your Journey – this could be another Scout with Outdoor Adventure Skills Stage 7 or above in the relevant area, or an appropriately-skilled adult.
The Journey should be a human-powered experience such as bushwalking, cycling, kayaking, sailing etc. The journey itself will be undertaken by you and fellow Scouts and should not require attendance by any adults.
Adults will, however, need to be aware of both your route and when you have completed your Journey.
Venturer Scouts and Rover Scouts
For the Venturer Scout and Rover Scout sections the journeys are 4 days and 3 nights duration.
The Unit Council and an adult Leader should know who is completing their Adventurous Journey and when.
The Unit Council, or members of the Unit, should be involved in the review of the Adventurous
