Meet the Teachers
Ms. Hoge
I was born and raised here and graduated from Scottsboro High School. Go Wildcats! I went on to attend the University of Alabama where I majored in Elementary Education. I taught for a year before going overseas to Papua New Guinea to be a missionary teacher for two years. I returned the summer of 2018. I am so excited to teach reading and language this year! In my free time, I love to hang out with my niece and family, read, spend time outdoors, and watch Alabama football.
Mrs. Dill
I grew up in Florence, Alabama, and graduated from the University of North Alabama in 2011 with a degree in Elementary Education. I earned my Master's degree in Elementary Education from Delta State University. I taught in Mississippi for 7 years before moving to Scottsboro in 2018. I live here with my husband and two daughters who also attend Scottsboro City Schools. In my free time I volunteer at my church, spend time with my girls and family, and do hand-lettering projects. I am so excited to begin the year teaching Math and Science!
Mrs. Teal
I am from Scottsboro and graduated from Scottsboro High School in 2006. I then graduated from The University of Alabama (Roll Tide) with my bachelor's degree and from The University of West Alabama with my master's degree, both in Elementary Education. This is my 13th year teaching 5th graders, and I absolutely love it! I have been at Collins Intermediate for 10 years now, and I teach my most favorite subject, Math! My husband and I have two sons who are our pride and joy, and we live just outside of Scottsboro. In my free time, I love to spend time with my family, relax and have fun outdoors, and shopping. I look forward to a great year with all of my students!
Mrs. Rouse
My name is Mrs. Rouse and I will be your 5th grade reading and language teacher. This will be my 21st year here at Collins Intermediate with 5th grade. I love my 5th graders, reading, learning, and using technology! I have the perfect job! I earned my associates degree from Northeast Community College, my bachelor’s degree from Athens University, and my master’s degree from Alabama A&M University. Some of my favorite things include: reading, learning, teaching, technology, Alabama football, traveling, attending church, and most of all, spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren. I look forward to our year together!
Mrs. Williams
I am from Scottsboro and graduated from Scottsboro High School in 1986. I am a 2015 graduate of Athens State University and have a BS in Elementary Education. My husband and I live in Scottsboro, and have two children and two grandchildren. In my spare time I enjoy reading and traveling.
Mrs. Anderton
My name is Sara Anderton. This is my 17th year at Collins Intermediate. I taught 6th Grade for the first 16 years, and now this year I am teaching 5th Grade Science and Social Studies.
I graduated from Scottsboro High School in 1997. Currently I live in Dutton with my husband, Labron, and our two children. My husband is a Science teacher at Pisgah High School. My son, Luke, is in 8th Grade and my daughter, Grace, is in 7th Grade at the Scottsboro Junior High. We have a dog named Callie and two cats named Socks and Tux.
Mrs. Jones
I am from Scottsboro and graduated from Scottsboro High School in 1988. I then attended Athens University and graduated with my B.S in Elementary Ed. and Social Studies. I received my Masters Degree and ED.S Degree from the University of Alabama. Roll Tide Roll!! I have taught in the Scottsboro City School System for 28 years and have loved every minute. My husband and I have one daughter which attends SCS. We love to travel, watch Alabama football, attend church, and hang out with family and friends. This is going to be the best year yet and I can't wait to see what the future brings for us!! Go Wildcats!!
