Homecoming Football Game
The Schuylkill Valley Panthers beat the Annville Cleona Dutchmen 49-28. The Black Pack was loud in the "construction zone," participating in the theme of construction/neon.
This year, the football team has been doing well and won against our rival’s last game. Hamburg couldn’t stand a chance! So far the Panthers have a 5-1 win-lose ratio which is great so far in the season. The student section is so fun to be in and keeps the games fun and exciting. I encourage you to show up to the student section if you’ve never been to a Schuylkill Valley High School football game.
The cheer team has also had a successful season so far with 3 Seniors this year being in the homecoming court! The 3 seniors are Kylie Gunter, Makayla Bowers, and Alexa Davis. Congrats!

Homecoming Dance
SVHS hosted its 2024 annual fall homecoming dance on Saturday, October 19th. Tickets were sold during lunch periods for a week until October 4th. It was a big success and there were many in attendance. The dance was held from 6:00 until 9:00. The dance was held in the cafeteria and the auxiliary cafeteria was also open. There was a DJ, who played a variety of music. The candidates for Spirit King were Jamil Cotto, Preston Hidalgo, Cooper Hohenadel, Mason Leh, John Kowalski, and Lucas Spotts. The king was decided through Penny Wars, where pennies would be placed in a candidate’s bucket as a positive vote. The money went to the winner’s charity. Cooper Hohenadel was chosen as the 2024 Spirit King. The Homecoming Court included Mackenzie Bachman, Abigail Ruth, Makayla Bowers, Alexa Davis, Violet Grosselfinger, Taryn Rittenhouse, Logan Muller, and Kylie Gunter. Abigail Ruth was nominated as this year's homecoming queen! Congratulations to all of the nominees! Overall, homecoming was a big hit and we can’t wait for next year!
