A street thief, a new heir to the throne, an unexpected duo. Kazi has ghosts that haunt her past, once a thief just to survive has turned into a chance to be part of the queen’s elite guard. On a mission, she needs to investigate transgressions against new settlements. To do that she needs to infiltrate the Ballenger empire and hunt down whoever is causing trouble to their kingdom. With the sudden death of his father, Jase is the next in line to be heir to the throne. The Ballengers have a reputation to upkeep, the sudden transition has to be smooth and unnoticeable. That is until Kazi and Jase are kidnapped together and need to find their way back to the kingdom before the townspeople notice they are gone. Dance of Thieves is a critically acclaimed novel and has very high reviews. Though the book had a slow start Jase and Kazi did not disappoint. The characters go through many highs and lows with many plot twists and deceptions. This book is a solid read and goes at a steady pace with a good cliffhanger leading to the second and final book in the duology.
