The Conjuring is a classic supernatural horror film that came out in 2013, directed by James Wan and written by Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes. The movie is based on the Perron family who moved into an 18th century farmhouse in Rhode Island in 1971. The family is Roger and Carolyn Perron and their five daughters and the paranormal investigators who helped this family. Their names were Ed and Lorraine Warren. Majority of the events in the movie were based on real life events that the family experienced which was haunted house, demon possession and exorcism. The knowledge of knowing the movie is based on a true story is what raises terror and tension. Many people like this movie because of the famous paranormal investigator couple, Ed and Lorraine. They were not just played in this horror movie but many more. Aside from the Conjuring series, they were also played in popular movies, Annabelle and The Nun.
Ed grew up in a haunted house and at the age of 5, he saw an apparition (a supernatural appearance of a person or thing) Later on he became a self taught demonologist and he worked closely with priests just like his deceased aunt in his dreams said he would do. Just like Ed, Lorraine discovered her clairvoyant abilities at a young age. It began when she saw an angel in a hospital. She recalled seeing auras around people but she assumed that was normal. In an attempt to prove that her abilities were not fake, she went through scientific testing by parapsychologists at UCLA. The studies determined that Lorraine was a light trance medium.
The Warrens began investigating the paranormal in 1952 and they collected memorabilia from their cases and later on opened the Warren Occult Museum which is where the real Annabelle doll lives now. People were allowed to visit but under certain requirements. Now, the museum is closed due to zoning issues. Ed and Lorraine Warren have since then passed but they still hold their names for well known paranormal investigators from their very popular cases.
