Every sophomores that we’ve interviewed depicts how helpful the counselors and SLC directors were in the year so far. Maria, a sophomore, says, “Especially my SLC director does everything in her power to help the students who feel isolated and make them feel included.” A current freshmen, Fatima, states, “My counselor advised me on which classes to take and how to plan if I want to graduate early. She is very helpful with the academics as well.” When asked if you want to change anything from their freshmen year, each had their own idea to make Hillcrest better.

Fahmed, a sophomore, stated that, “Shortening the duration of class time and making more workshops could help me manage my time while also giving me time to get one on one help from teachers.” Another sophomore who wished to stay anonymous said, “The SLC system of this school can feel isolating sometimes.
