The Case That Went on For Years, Finally Unraveled in Almost 3 Decades Late

By Shadale Brown

Tupac Shakur, who was sadly killed in a drive-by shooting back in 1996, was known as a gifted rapper.

This case has stunned many and people are shocked to hear that it took 3 decades to find the killer of the beloved and late artist Tupac Shakur.

Tupac was a very talented actor , songwriter & rapper whose full name was “Tupac Amaru Shakur”. He was killed on September 26th, 1996 in a drive-by shooting in Nevada, Los Angeles, due to gang affiliation and disses being made throughout songs. But even after 3 decades of this legendary rapper being deceased, the killer has not been caught, until in 2023 justice was finally served for the 26 year old rapper. His pronounced killer, “Duanne Keith Davis'' kept flaunting to social media, pursuing and surrounding himself with the involvement of his part in the murder of the 26 year old superstar.

Duanne was arrested on September 29th, 2023 in LA. He was charged with open murder with the use of a deadly firearm with gang enhancement in connection to the drive-by shooting of rapper Tupac Shakur.

Some speculate that Duanne is being used by someone in a fraction of a cover up for the actual killer, but some also speculate he knew this day was bound to come. Fans of Tupac have stated questions on the popular social media app once known as “Twitter” now called “X”, have stated questions like, “I’m wondering how they found Tupac’s alleged killer? Like what made deputies and LAPD make that connection to Duanne??”  Well! It was brought to light that he confessed to the killing of the rapper. But why? Did he want attention?  Or was the guilt just too much to bear for the crimes he has committed in his youth?

Recently, as of January 4th, 2024, the ex gang member had made a bid for house arrest in the Las Vegas courtroom before trial for his partaking in the Tupac case. His Trial will be held in June of 2024.

It was also called to attention to Duanne’s words back in 2008 in police interviews & in his 2019 tell-all memoir in the media , which provides strong evidence that he orchestrated the September 1996 drive by murder. Duanne is being held at the Clark County Detention center in Las Vegas, where detainees' phone calls are routinely recorded. If convicted at the end of his trial, he could spend the rest of his life in Nevada State Prison.

Duanne is originally from Compton, California. He maintains the fact that he was given immunity from prosecution in 2008 by FBI agents and LA police who were investigating both the killings of Shakur in Los Vegas and rival rapper Christopher Wallace, known as “Biggie Smalls” in March 1997 in LA.

Duanne’s attorneys argue that his descriptions of the Shakur’s killings were “done for entertainment purposes and attention.” Which made fans furious because joking about a cold blooded crime is unbearable to not only to Tupac's Family and friends, but also takes a toll on the fans and supporters as they have to watch the one whom they looked up to and loved be clowned on the internet through his death. Just this suspicion alone makes most fans including myself think that Duanne was never lying to the media and his memoir about what truly happened that night we lost a true legend.

Rest in peace to the Legend himself, Tupac Shakur.
