Importance of Social Life for Teens

By Genesis Zumbana

Social life for teens is such an important thing because it impacts their relationship with others and their bonding. When you have a bond with someone, it creates something special and strong. Social life can give a better understanding of ourselves. For example, it can help out with developing skills and being comfortable with who you are.

The benefits of having a social life can increase quality of life and it can help you understand and encourage you to connect with others. When connecting with other people, it can give you a better understanding of each other (It can also help with having a strong connection with them).

When surrounding yourself with positivity, it can help with your social life. Being socially connected with others can assist and ease anxiety, depression, decrease stress, boost self-worth, and also provide comfort. When engaging with others you create memories that will last forever.

One of my resources (Tasmanian Department of Health) states, “Healthy social connections help us all have a sense of wellbeing, and young people are no exception to this. Having positive relationships with people like family members, friends and schoolmates lowers anxiety and depression. It also raises self-esteem. Feeling supported has a powerful impact on health generally.”
