It took a long time to get here but we've officially reached cold weather season. With these frigid temperatures, it's time to bundle up! There are several designer coats to keep you warm, while also keeping you fly and stylish. We are going to present you with 5 coats that are popular this season and you have to pick which one best suits you. These jackets are investments, so make sure when you pick one, you pick the best one FOR YOU.
First, we got Mackage Jackets. Mackage was founded in 1999 and has committed to providing luxury outerwear to their customers. Mackage has great coats for both men and women. We interviewed a boy named Julian who has a Mackage Puffer Jacket. It can be found under the name ¨KENT-Z lustrous down jacket with hood¨ on the Mackage website. Julian says, the jacket is thick, keeps him warm, it's durable, (has lasted for 2 years so far) and is still in great condition. The hood covers his whole head and the pockets keep his hands warm. He says the jacket can even cover his nose, in the chance it gets too cold. According to the Mackage Website, the Puffer has a relaxed, loose fit that can be adjusted based on customers size. The Puffer has the signature "Mackage" wording patch on the left sleeve. This Mackage is valued at $990.
Mackage also has a cute luxury coat for women. The most popular ones are either the ADALI Down, KAY Down, or TRISH Down coats. We interviewed a student named Ryan, who has one of the Down coats that Mackage sells. As one can see this Down coat by Mackage is longer than most coats. This provides extra warmth to more of the body. However, according to Ryan this coat isn’t as warm as a Moose Knuckle. Ryan says that this coat is high maintenance, in order to keep the fur intact. However, you can purchase a Down coat from Mackage without the fur as well. In addition, the pockets are cotton lined, which provides extra warmth for the hands. Ryan loves that this coat has 2 zippers. If it's not that cold, she can just zip up the zipper closer to the body area and if it gets really really cold, she can zip up both zippers. This Mackage retails for $1,290. Do you think a Mackage coat is right for you?
Next up, Moose Knuckle jackets. The company Moose Knuckle was founded in 1921. It was founded in order to protect Canadians from the cold. Their motto is to “warm you to your core so you can ignite the fire from within”. We interviewed our very own writer, Tyler. He has the black “Originals Shearling Ballistic Bomber Jacket”. It originally retails for $1,190 but is on sale now for $833 on the Moose Knuckle website. Tyler states that this Moose Knuckle keeps him very warm. According to the website, this jacket keeps you warm in temps that range from -4 degrees to -22 degrees fahrenheit. Tyler states that the jacket is well-insulated on the inside. This is because the inside of the coat is 74% Cotton. Including the pockets which keeps your hands really warm. However, the pockets are small so if you have big hands, it would fit like a glove inside the pockets. This Moose Knuckle coat can make you look stiff. However, Tyler states that he can move freely in his Moose Knuckle. He states that the coat doesn’t make any weird sounds when moving around.
We also got a chance to interview a student by the name of Aaliyah, who also has a Green Moose Knuckle. It’s specifically named “Original Debbie Bomber Jacket Fur”. Aaliyah mentions how this coat is long lasting, considering the fact that she’s had this coat since the 8th grade and is currently a junior in high school! However, the wrist area can fade or start to distress so take good care of the coat. She also states that the coat is very stylish, but be careful with wearing it indoors because your body can get too hot. Do you think a Moose Knuckle is right for you?
Next up, Canada Goose Jackets. It was founded in 1957. They pride themselves on making the “highest quality, function-first outerwear”. A senior named Kenneth says his “Long Parka” is high in quality. It keeps him so warm that he believes this jacket is solely for the Winter. Kenneth also reported that the pockets are fleece lined but “kinda small”. However, the jacket isn’t great in the mobility department, so there isn’t much of a point to get active in it; because of this, the jacket makes him walk stiffly. The hood is very big, protecting his head from any kind of precipitation, harsh or not. The jacket can cover you from the mid-thigh all the way up to your face when zipped up all the way. This parka ranges from $1,400 to $1,900. These jackets are by far the most expensive jacket presented in this article, but according to Kenneth this jacket is worth the price. Kamali, a senior at Hillcrest High School, states that his “Long Parka” makes him feel swaggy. He states, “ I attract all the girls”. Definitely could be the most stylish winter jacket for you!
Lastly, we have North Face jackets. Founded in 1966, named after the most challenging side of the mountain. Alexia, a senior at Hillcrest High School, has a ¨Woman's 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket”. She says that her North Face keeps her warm because of the nice insulation. The mobility when zipped up is uncomfy and feels weird to her. The jacket has a hoodie that's not visible at first glance. It's actually rolled up inside the neck on the hoodie. Koffi, a senior at Hillcrest High School, says that the hoodie is “tiny and ugly”. He has the “Men’s 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket”. While Alexia feels like the mobility of the jacket is weird, Koffi feels that he has “full range motion” in the jacket. Out of all the jackets presented in this article, North Face is the least expensive jacket to purchase. The “North Face 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket” retails for $330.
Don’t get us wrong, these jackets are expensive, however a jacket should be an investment. Usually the more expensive an item of clothing is the better quality you get in terms of material and longevity. Through the students we’ve interviewed these jackets have special features to them that you may not find in a regular jacket. These jackets are greatly insulated and have technology that specifically protects wearers from weather conditions. Not to mention, when you buy online during holidays such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or some Federal Holidays you can get these coats at a cheaper deal than what they retail for currently. This article isn’t to persuade you to buy these jackets. It is simply to present you with the best options of this season! So what are you waiting for? Which jacket is best for you?
