How to Fake Check Jordans
By Tamim Mollah
Ever wonder if your Jordans are fake? Well this is how you find out. You are welcome.
1. Size tag
The fake Jordan 4 size tag’s text is too bold
The letters are too thick
On the real Air Jordan 4 tag’s text, all the pointed inscriptions are thinner
2. Cage
The stitching below the fake pair’s cage has too much space between each thread
That makes the stitching inconsistent
The real pair has its stitches placed closer to each other, leaving less empty space in between the threads
3. Back
The fake Jordan 4 has inconsistent stitching
The threads are too thin, too short, and too sparse
The fake pair has fewer threads than the real pair
4. Interior tongue
Sizing:
The fake pair’s “AIR JORDAN” text is too small.
The real one’s text is bigger.
Thickness:
All characters on the fake Jordan 4’s label are too thin and narrow
The real pair’s letters are thicker and wider than the fake
How to Fake Check Jordan 1s:
1. Interior tongue
Clear and legible font on the Air Jordan 1 tag.
“CHINA” text is clearly printed.
“A” in the tag is entirely legible.
Properly printed “H” letter in the tag.
Consistent printing of French words like “VOTRE.”
“E” in “GARANTIE” is clearly and entirely printed.
Fake:
Thinner and sometimes illegible font on the Air Jordan 1 tag.
“CHINA” text comparison can reveal discrepancies.
“A” might not be entirely legible.
“H” letter appears wider.
Poorly-printed text can be a red flag; e.g., the “E” in “GARANTIE” might not be fully printed.
While high-quality replicas might not have wavy text, they can still show the above-mentioned differences.
2. Bulkiness
Authentic:
Subtle curve in the box.
Sole sits higher, especially noticeable in the lower left corner.
Fake:
Bulkier overall appearance.
Lacks the distinctive subtle curve seen in the genuine pair.
Smaller toe box.
3. Jordan 1 logo
As you will see in the pictures below, fake manufacturers manage to replicate 90 to 98% of the logo right…
But there are some shortcomings on the Air Jordan logo.
Almost every pair of this model has the classic Air Jordan 1 logo with wings
