Sirsky's Story

Ms. Sirsky is an English and College Readiness teacher who has been teaching here at Hillcrest for the past 25 years, starting in 1999, and from Buckhannon, WV. Before college, she was a truck driver who delivered mushrooms for a few years, and ended up getting married! She had 2 kids! Jason and Michael. Unfortunately later on, she and her husband divorced.
Later on, she became a part of the Cisco Academy ITE as a certified instructor at HHS Cisco Networking Academy until it dissolved. She also obtained an A+ Certification for information technology Essentials. She is trained with Blended Learning Institute (also known as BLI) for exploring computer science (ECS) and code.org for computer Science Principles.
She had left Queensborough community college with 63 credits to attend NYU with a transfer opportunity Scholarship working with a mentor, in which she studied not only computer science hardware but also software repair, until graduation.
Ever since Ms.Sirsky was a little girl she dreamed of being a ballerina, and getting out of her hometown, wanting to travel. Years later, she had helped her father build a home and is expecting to be inheriting it.
Her favorite song is Too Sweet by Hozier, She also likes Green day which is an American rock band formed in California in 1987, and also enjoys listening to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers which were formed in LA during the 1980’s.
Her hobbies include shopping, watching tennis and football.
Currently she teaches English and College Readiness here at Hillcrest!
