Journey with Ms. Ramjan

Ms. Ramjan is a teacher at Hillcrest who has been teaching for about 20 years. She teaches advisory & leadership and is currently a co-director of Global Citizens SLC. She has been passionate about learning from a young age. Moreover, she has attended many colleges such as CUNY College, CUNY City College, CUNY Queens College, St. John's University, CUNY Baruch, Students Work University.
Before college, she had experienced several jobs such as being a bookkeeper and inventory coordinator. Ms.Ramjan was born and raised in Guyana, South America and started her college education in America.
As a child, Ms/ Ramjan dreamed of becoming a famous journalist. Her favorite hobby is tennis. Tennis helps her to be taken away from the world and feel free. An equally important thing in her life is traveling. Ramjan has visited Aruba, Barbados,Tomas Jofre, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Spain, Morocco, Canada, Guyana, Puerto Rico. Additionally, she would like to visit one more country: Toujane.
Ms.Ramjan admires the R&B group called "The Stylistics" who are an American Philadelphia soul group that achieved their greatest chart success in the 1970s. They formed in 1968, with a lineup of singers named Russel Thompkins Jr., Herb Murrel, Airrion Love, James Smith. and James Dunn.
A fun fact about Ms.Ramjan is that she has a very playful personality. Humor is her favorite thing in the world. She can take anything somebody says and make humor out of it. Moreover, she has a beautiful cat Ghost and he was her favorite person during COVID-19.
Her advice for the students in Hillcrest High School is to “keep your head on your shoulders or where it belongs and always think before you act. Think that tomorrow will always come and be prepared for it.”
