House System

The Sojourner Truth School is committed to identity, collaboration, competition, and leadership as the four pillars guiding the House System. Each House is named after one of the following cultural icons whose likeness is painted on the mural located on the school's W. 117th St. wall: Lolita Lebrón, Zora Neale Hurston, Marcus Garvey, Langston Hughes, WEB DuBois, and Maya Angelou.
