Good Evening, HSTAT families
As we head into the weekend, we’re happy to celebrate a successful second full week of the 2026-2027 school year! Students are settling into routines, taking on new responsibilities, and building the habits needed for a strong year ahead. I want to thank all of our parents who logged into Curriculum Night. I hope you learned a lot about the courses your child will be taking this year.
All students should now have their school-issued laptop and Yondr pouch. If they are missing either of these items, they should go to room 260. Please help us reinforce preparedness by reminding your child to charge their laptop each night and carry it with them each day, and they should bring a Yondr pouch and ID card daily.
To those who observed Yom Kippur, we hope you spent it peacefully with family.
We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday morning, and we hope you will join the PTA meeting at 7 pm on Monday night!
Sincerely,
Principal Shepard

From Guidance
HSTAT will be rolling out our food availability initiative, "Come Bien, Viva Bien!" Our goal is to provide free and easily available food to our students, many who struggle with food insecurity, increased food insecurity due to the attacks on our immigrant community, on the food security of families who receive food stamps, and intense economic inflation. We also hope that this increases a sense of community, and supports our students in their advocacy.
We will start by opening our SNACKerias that will be available in between periods when students are passing in room 103, 131,331 and 431. Snacks will be healthy whole food options that are nut free.
