During Year 1 (2021-22), a group of educators field tested and made updates to the City of Fury curricula. Teachers learned how to assemble rovers, build towers, and generate code using LEGO's new EV3 Classroom application, featuring block-based coding similar to other applications used in computer science instruction, such as Code.org and Scratch. The photographs below follow both staff and students through the journey of creative problem-solving.
To support engineering design learning and thinking in the elementary classroom, our team developed the Solar Flare curriculum, allowing students to experiment with how renewable energy can change and sustain our lives. The District 5 team will pilot this program in September 2022.
