New York City's Community Education Councils (CECs) are charged with promoting student achievement, advising and commenting on educational policies, and providing input to the Chancellor and the Panel for Educational Policy (PEP) on matters of concern to the district. The powers and duties of CECs are spelled out in NYS Education Law §2590-e; those of Citywide Councils can be found in §2590-b.

CEC25 IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2 VACANT SEATS
Community Education Council 25 (CEC 25) is currently seeking 2 parent representatives to fill a council vacancy. This is a great opportunity for a parent to have a voice in decisions that impact our district’s public schools and to help shape educational priorities for our community.
We kindly ask for your help in sharing this opportunity with families throughout District 25.
Eligibility
Your child must attend a public school in the district's Pre-K to 8th grade.
