ELA Department Lead
Hello! My name is Bonnie Kominos and I am I ENL and ELA teacher. I graduated from Clark University with a major in Communication and Culture and a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Before I was a teacher, I was a Museum Educator at the Museum of Jewish Heritage–A Living Memorial to the Holocaust where I coordinated our internship programs. I recognize the importance of hands-on experiences, sharing culture, respecting each student’s voice and cultivating a classroom environment where students are willing to share. These are values I brought from my time in a museum to my classroom.
I want my students to be comfortable sharing in the classroom which is why I place such an emphasis on using accountable talk. I believe in student led discussions in which students have the power to create something meaningful.
I am currently teaching 10th grade ELA, but have taught all grades ELA and Standalone ENL 💐
