I am Michael Aspenleiter, an educator with eight years of experience and currently the Social Studies Department Lead at ATLAS High School. Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with international students and speakers of other languages. Previously, I spent six years at New World High School in District 11 of the Bronx before returning to my native borough of Queens. My time there provided me with valuable insights and training on how English Language Learners (ELLs) adapt to new environments, exhibit exceptional work ethic, and how best to support this community during such a critical period in their lives.

Outside of my professional life, I am passionate about the beach and nature, finding peace and inspiration in the great outdoors. I have a deep love for learning and history, constantly seeking to expand my knowledge and understanding of the world. These interests not only enrich my personal life but also enhance my teaching, allowing me to bring a broader perspective to my students.
