We have a new report to use that will help us see if students are skipping classes and will allow us to address this issue more quickly. In addition, tracking students’ tardies and informing students and parents about tardies is a time-consuming process. Because of this, for the last few weeks, tardies have not been tracked. Our front office and Dean of Students, Amy Lawrence, have developed a new streamlined process in place that will help us keep track of student tardies. Students and parents will be first notified once a student has received 2 tardies in a particular class and informed of every tardy thereafter. All of these procedures will go into effect on the first day of the second semester, January 22. You may review the tardy and attendance procedure for the Junior/Senior High School Campus by accessing our Student Handbook on the page. Our Student Handbook is viewable by clicking here.
The FBI is alerting the public to the deliberate targeting of minor victims by violent online groups on widely accessible messaging platforms. These groups aim to coerce victims between the ages of 8 and 17 years old to produce content involving self-harm, explicit sexual acts, and/or suicide. Being specifically targeted are LGBTQ+ youth, racial minorities, and those struggling with mental health issues. Utilizing threats, blackmail, and manipulation, the groups exert control over victims by pressuring them. There are many active group names including 676, 764, CVLT, Court, Kaskar, Harm Nation, Leak Society, and H3ll, with subgroups continuously formed under different nicknames. Whether it’s an overnight pre-college program, a local day camp, or a sleepaway adventure experience, summer programs for teens are great for pursuing new interests, improving existing skills, and making new friends outside of the classroom.
On this page, we’ve collected and curated some of the best summer programs for students in middle and high school. These one-of-a-kind programs come in all shapes and sizes — some are academically focused, others are skills-based, and still others are similar to a traditional summer camp experience. However, all of these programs offer vital enrichment opportunities for teens to expand their horizons.
Established in 1990, this scholarship program honors the legacy of Lloyd F. Hutt – teacher and founder of LMCU. We are proud to have provided over $540,000 in scholarships to 312 deserving students over the years.
