Weekly Newsletter

February 12 - February 18

Don't miss our next All Pro Dad breakfast coming up on Wednesday, February 14 at 7:00 a.m. in the Schoolcraft High School cafeteria. Former Hope College Football standout David Booko will be our guest speaker and we will have lots of door prizes and a special Valentines day treat for all of the students. Invite your dad friends!

The Eagle Elite Robotics season is underway. Our challenge this year is called Crescendo. Our robot will need to pick up, and shoot notes into a stereo or amplifier, as well as hang from a chain at the end of the match. Our first competition is March 8-9 in St. Joseph, and our second competition is March 15-16 in Ann Arbor. We would love to have you come watch and learn what FIRST Robotics is all about!

We would also appreciate new sponsors! If you own a business, or know of a business that would like to sponsor our team,

Contact Karin Lynch to learn more about it.

We have a new report to use that will help us see if students are skipping classes and will allow us to address this issue more quickly.  In addition, tracking students’ tardies and informing students and parents about tardies is a time-consuming process.  Because of this, for the last few weeks, tardies have not been tracked. Our front office and Dean of Students, Amy Lawrence, have developed a new streamlined process in place that will help us keep track of student tardies.  Students and parents will be first notified once a student has received 2 tardies in a particular class and informed of every tardy thereafter.  All of these procedures will go into effect on the first day of the second semester, January 22.  You may review the tardy and attendance procedure for the Junior/Senior High School Campus by accessing our Student Handbook on the page.  Our Student Handbook is viewable by clicking here.

FBI Warns of Online Groups Targeting Minors

The FBI is alerting the public to the deliberate targeting of minor victims by violent online groups on widely accessible messaging platforms.  These groups aim to coerce victims between the ages of 8 and 17 years old to produce content involving self-harm, explicit sexual acts, and/or suicide.  Being specifically targeted are LGBTQ+ youth, racial minorities, and those struggling with mental health issues.  Utilizing threats, blackmail, and manipulation, the groups exert control over victims by pressuring them.  There are many active group names including 676, 764, CVLT, Court, Kaskar, Harm Nation, Leak Society, and H3ll, with subgroups continuously formed under different nicknames.  For additional information, visit Campus Safety Magazine.

7th Grade Field to the KVCC Museum

7th grade went to visit Kalamazoo Valley Museum. While there they went to the planetarium and connected what they are currently learning in science.  The planetarium was a first-time experience for many.  They also had 2 classroom sessions in which they learned about artifacts and how to catalog them.  Students also had time for free exploration of the museum.  Many enjoyed making Lego cars, playing a virtual snowball fight, making music, and acting as though they were broadcasting the news.  Thanks to the chaperones who accompanied us!

Summer Programs for Teens

Whether it’s an overnight pre-college program, a local day camp, or a sleepaway adventure experience, summer programs for teens are great for pursuing new interests, improving existing skills, and making new friends outside of the classroom.

On this page, we’ve collected and curated some of the best summer programs for students in middle and high school. These one-of-a-kind programs come in all shapes and sizes — some are academically focused, others are skills-based, and still others are similar to a traditional summer camp experience. However, all of these programs offer vital enrichment opportunities for teens to expand their horizons.
