October 25th, 2019

Coming home with your child today, is a half-sheet of paper (red, white, or blue). Our school is asking that you and your child complete it at home as part of our Veteran's Day celebration coming in November. We would like to honor all of the veteran's that our families know by displaying these red, white and blue half-sheets around the school. We hope this project allows you and your family an opportunity to celebrate the veterans that you know as we honor them for their service and commitment to our country.

2019 Bond Proposal

What you need to know:

  • Vote on November 5th

We believe every Schoolcraft student deserves a quality learning environment that equips them to succeed for a lifetime.

Our current elementary and middle schools and some athletic facilities are old and failing. We've maintained them for as long as possible. They need to be replaced.

We've developed a long-term plan to wisely invest in a better, safer learning environment for students while minimizing taxpayer burden.

  • New Building for PreK-6th grades designed for modern learning
  • New, dedicated, access-controlled addition to the high school for 7th-8th grades designed for modern learning
  • Improved security and safety
  • Athletic facilities enhancements
  • Energy-efficient systems
  • Cost: $39.9 million (3 mills increase)

Know the facts. Ask Questions. Vote on November 5.

Halloween Parade:

The annual Halloween parade will take place on 10/31/2019 at the Elementary School. All attendees must enter through the main door and then proceed to the gymnasium. Students will take two laps through the gym allowing attendees to take pictures and enjoy the parade.

The parade will begin promptly at 9:15 am.

The parade will be streamed live on the SCS Facebook page for those that can not attend. Please encourage friends and family to like our page and enjoy the parade that day.

Thursday Delayed Starts at Schoolcraft:

Upcoming Delayed Starts:

  • Thursday, Oct. 31st
  • Thursday, Nov. 14th
  • Thursday, Nov. 21st

What are delayed starts and why does Schoolcraft have them?

Delayed starts allow our students to arrive for a 8:45 am start* which provides our teachers time to collaborate professionally to make informed instructional plans for every student in our building together. This is a powerful time for our staff that ensures that every student's instructional needs are being individually planned for by a group of dedicated Eagle Educators!

*Students can arrive as normal between 7:45-8:00 on delayed starts and participate in activities in the gymnasium OR can arrive "delayed" between 8:40-8:45 and still be considered on time (not tardy).

Food Drive Coming:

The Schoolcraft Community Schools annual food drive for the Eagles Nest is only 8 weeks away. If you pick up just 1 extra canned or boxed item a week between now and then, the Eagles Nest will receive 8 wonderful items from your household! What an impact that will have on our community! Please keep this charitable act in mind as December approaches. We look forward to stocking Eagles nest again this year! MORE TO COME.
