Please Click HERE to read a letter from Matt Dailey regarding our OK2Say Program

OK2SAY is the student safety program which allows students to confidentially report tips on potential harm or criminal activities directed at students, school employees, and schools. It uses a comprehensive communication system to facilitate tip sharing among students, parents, school personnel, community mental health service programs, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and law enforcement officials about harmful behaviors that threaten to disrupt the learning environment.

Not all heroes wear a cape and tights.  A real hero speaks up for what's right.  Be a real hero.  If you see or hear something that threatens student or school safety, submit a confidential tip to OK2SAY.

This year we’re excited to add a Family Night component to the 10th annual MiCareerQuest SW event. From 3:30 to 6 PM on Tuesday, October 24, families from your district are invited to the Expo Center to join the MiCareerQuest fun, including hands-on activities hosted by local employers and family-friendly career exploration guided by KRESA’s Career Connect staff. Intended primarily for high school students and their families (but open to younger siblings), MiCareerQuest Family Night offers multigenerational experiences highlighting local career opportunities and encouraging conversations about career next steps for both students and their family members.

We’re working hard to make sure everyone feels welcome – the Expo Center is wheelchair accessible, and we’ll offer interpretation in Spanish, Arabic, French, and American Sign Language. We’ll also help as much as we can with transportation options. We will be releasing the media package and fliers soon, but we wanted to be sure to share this info with you all first.

8th Grade to Visit Career Quest

On October 25th, our 8th Grade will be attending the Annual Career Quest!

MiCareerQuest Southwest is not your average career fair. In fact, it’s not a career fair at all. It’s a career exploration experience.

MiCareerQuest Southwest is the region's largest interactive career exploration event that will draw thousands of eighth grade students in Kalamazoo and Calhoun Counties and will take place in-person on October 24 & 25th, 2023.

It exposes students to a broad range of exciting, rewarding career opportunities as they prepare for their futures as students will be meeting with working professionals who have built successful careers in a variety of fields. Local employers highlight careers within four high-demand industries: information technology, health sciences, manufacturing, and professional trades.

In addition, young people will have the opportunity to touch, feel and work with the equipment, tools and technology used by people every day in a broad range of in-demand jobs. Students engage with professionals and participate in activities that highlight various high-growth occupations, opening their eyes to opportunities for great careers in Southwest Michigan.

The goal is to connect classroom learning with real-world jobs and their requirements. Students also will discover engaging workplace opportunities, such as internships, job shadowing and more.

Additionally, representatives from educational institutions help students make the connection between training, education, and careers.
