The GBDSS Arts Department features an incredible roster of talented educational professionals. All of our teachers are also professional working artists in their own right and are very involved and connected with the local arts scene.

After graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in Visual Arts, Andrew toured Canada and the U.S.A. as the lead guitarist with his band, Turn Off the Stars. He and his band eventually went on to sign a recording contract with EMI Music Group U.S.A. Andrew is the Director of Music at Connexus Church in Barrie, Orillia and Midland, where he participates in weekly services. Now a father of two daughters, Emma and Leah have taken on their father’s love of art and music. Amazing singers themselves, they defeated him to claim the title of Inaugural SCDSB Idols. They are determined to remind him of their victory over him on a regular basis.
