#ProjectLIT Book Club

What is Project LIT?

The Branciforte Middle School Library is excited to announce our new book club, Project LIT Community.

Project LIT is a national LITeracy movement that is committed to increasing access to culturally relevant books and promoting a love of reading in our schools and communities.

We work together to:

  • Empower students as READERS and LEADERS in their school and community.
  • Host bi-yearly Project LIT Book Clubs.
  • Flood our schools and communities with high-quality, culturally relevant books.
  • Champion and celebrate reading daily.
  • Inspire and support one anotherthrough sharing of lesson plans, resources, strategies, and book recommendations.
  • Create opportunities for students to connect with peers around the country.
  • Advocate for policies and practices that will help our students become lifelong learners.

Project LIT student members will play an active role in

- fundraising for books.

- advertising the program.

- leading group discussions.

- planning, organizing, and facilitating a community discussion of the book at an evening event open to students, parents, and community members.
