Middle School Assistant Principal & Activities Director
Hello Pantherland! My name is Chance Langeness and this is the start of my tenth year at St. Croix Central Middle School. I began my teaching career in 2001 after receiving my undergrad degree from UW-Madison. I taught 6th and 8th grade Math and Science in Goodyear, Arizona . Upon returning to Wisconsin (graduate of Luck High School - Go Cardinals!), I was fortunate to join the Panther family as a 5th grade teacher. I received my graduate degree from Silver Lake College in the summer of 2018. Soon after, I transitioned into my current role as Assistant Principal and Activities Director. I am extremely grateful and proud to be a part of the SCC School District and Community!
One of my primary roles is working with students on the behavior side of their schooling. We begin each school year with students and staff immersing themselves into our positive behavior program titled ROAR. R.O.A.R. is an acronym for our 4 major areas of focus: Respect, Optimism, Awareness, and Responsibility. During our Advisory time (8:00-8:20 each morning), students will share, learn, and practice expectations for the many varying parts of their school days. Chromebook care and use, before and after school options and expectations, dress code reminders, and new cafeteria procedures are some examples of what teachers and students work on together.
My other primary role is serving as the middle school's Activities Director. If you have any questions or concerns with athletics, the Teen Center, G.R.A.S.P., Forensics, Drama/Play productions, Student Council, etc. please don't hesitate to call or email me at anytime.
