The iPad 1:1 program operates under the Scarsdale School District's Responsible Use, Student/Parent Agreement for District-owned Mobile Devices, and Social Media Policies.

As discussed throughout this site, the program is designed to provide students with a computing device that meets -- and whose use is expected to be consistent with -- the school's and district's educational goals, both within the Middle School and at home. To this end, the school and district expect students to meet standards for use that include, but are not limited to, the following:

• I understand that the iPad assigned to me (referred to as “my iPad”) is on loan from Scarsdale Middle School and remains the property of the Scarsdale School District.

• I will take good care of my iPad.

• I will bring my iPad to school every day.

• I will never leave my iPad unattended.

• I will never loan out my iPad to other individuals.

• I will know where my iPad is at all times.

• I will charge my iPad every day.

• I will promptly report any theft, vandalism or damage to my iPad to school authorities.

• I will be responsible for all damage or loss caused by neglect or abuse.

• I agree to return the school’s iPad, case and power cords in good working condition and agree to pay for a replacement if the iPad is lost or stolen.

• I understand that my parents and I will be responsible for any damage and/or excess wear and tear to my iPad.

• I will keep food and beverages away from my iPad.

• I will not disassemble any part of my iPad or attempt any repairs.

• I will protect my iPad by only carrying it while in the case provided.

• I will not deface the inventory sticker on the iPad.

• I understand I can customize my iPad case with stickers, markers, etc.

• I will use my iPad in ways that are appropriate and educational, meeting Scarsdale Middle School’s expectations.

• I will not use my iPad to access Internet sites that are inappropriate or not relevant to educational assignments from the Scarsdale School District.

• I understand that use of my iPad is not private, and my iPad is subject to inspection at any time without notice.

• I understand that my use of the iPad in school and at home is governed by an internet filter and class management software (Apple Classroom).

• I will follow the expectations outlined and comply with the District’s Responsible Use Policy on and off school district premises, while at school, as well as outside the school day.
