We are so excited to be your 3rd grade teachers this year! It’s going to be a great year full of new friends, new adventures, and new discoveries.

My name is Mrs. Demaku! This will be my 10th year teaching and my fifth year at Heathcote in 3rd grade. Before coming to Heathcote, I taught reading and social studies to 5th graders just outside of Albany. When I'm not teaching I love to spend time with my husband Mergim and our dog Lucy, travel and be active! I cannot wait to create a year full of memories and FUN.

My name is Mrs. Burns! This is will be my 11th year teaching and my third year at Heathcote. Before becoming a teacher, I worked as an art advisor in New York City. Prior to teaching at Heathcote, I taught at schools in New York City and Westchester. When I'm not teaching I love to spend time with my children and family, needlepoint, play games, and travel. I am excited to return to teaching third grade and learn with you this year!
