Know that you are truly cared about. I value your ideas, thoughts, and actions. You have unique talents and strengths and I can’t wait for you to share them with our classmates of 3DA! You will have so much to offer our class and I am excited to watch you learn and grow this school year. Let’s make this the most incredible year together!
Homework is due the next day (unless otherwise stated).
When students come in each morning, they check their homework over independently to support individual responsibility. This also allows them time to address any confusion they may have had the night before or share out their successes of how well they completed the assignment on their own.
Students write down their homework each morning in their student planners. Their planners will be signed at school once homework has been written down to verify that it is correct.
Feel free to sign your students planner as well to ensure that you saw the assignments.
*The same information can be found on the Assignments, Reminders & Updates page (monitored daily)
A student centered social emotional approach guided through specifically designed lessons and daily morning meetings to encourage and promote classroom community, belonging, responsibility, and FUN!
We use technology just about every day in our classroom along side of hands on learning. In today's world of tech, our students will be learning to become digital leaders. This means they will be able to...
Make healthy media choices
Know what's "okay" and "not okay" to share on the internet
Create a positive digital footprint and identity
Respect creator's rights and responsibilities
Birthdays are very special! In accordance with the district’s allergy policy, birthdays will be celebrated without treats or refreshments.
Instead...
At school, students will post on a Birthday Padlet a few days before we celebrate! The Padlet will then be shared with your child's family so that parents, siblings, grandparents and other relatives can post a special birthday message! The link to the Padlet will be sent to you via email 1-2 days prior to our celebration (please be on the look out!). We will also sing a special song and have a mini dance party!
In our class it is important that everyone contributes. Each week students are given new classroom jobs that they are responsible for completing. At the end of the week, students are paid in Davidson Dollars. Once a month students will calculate their total amount earned and add it to their "bank account". After paying their monthly bills, students will then have the option of making a purchase (homework pass, teacher's chair for the day, lunch in the classroom, etc.) or saving their money for later use. This is a fun way for students to take responsibility and ownership in our classroom, all while teaching financial literacy in a friendly, 3rd grade, way!
