Q1: Can you tell me what social media sites you use?
Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, GroupMe, Linkedin
Q2: Can you tell me how long you have been using social media?
End of middle school or around early high school (Since 2012).
○ Q1: Which Social Media apps do you completely avoid? Why?
Doesn't use Instragram as much. Was not as engaged as other social media. But overall doesn't really avoid social media.
○ Q2: Tell me what went through your head the last time you posted on social media.
For Twitter, interviewee posted whatever seemed nice. Felt free to post or share anything that seemed nice.
Other social media required more thought. Tried to meet other expectations with the posts.
○ Q3: Which Social Media apps do you find to be the ‘easier’ to manage?
Twitter - it just felt easier to use.
Snapchat - only need to take pictures.
○ Q1: Do you post different content on different Social Media apps?If so, what kind of content do you post on each app?
Instragram - pictures taken with friends.
Twitter - various gifs and videos
Facebook - less posts and more reactions to news and memes
○ Q2: Recall a time when you had to manage multiple accounts on different social medias? What did you think or feel then?
Messaging on different apps is stressful and hectic
○ Q3: How much do you care about your ‘digital footprint’ or the content about you that is available online?
Very much cares. Certain posts can be interpreted in different ways. They can also be manipulated.
○ Q4: What have you done to manage what is happening with your digital footprint?
Has not thought much about it.
○ Q5: Why did you join social media?
People's influence has caused the individual to join social media
○ Q1: Do you ever feel like your privacy is in danger on Social Media? If so, which aspect(s) of your privacy do you feel could be violated?
Yes. Pictures, Preferences (e.g. Likes/Dislikes, Favorite Movie, Music, etc.), Info on their ethnicity, Basic Information like birthday.
○ Q2: Have you ever had an experience in which your privacy on Social Media was in danger?
Not really
○ Q3: Can you ever recall a time when you found an unwanted post about you online? If so, what did you feel then?
Yes. Found pictures of the interviewee on Twitter posted by a friend. Was later taken down when the interviewee asked the friend Does not want pictures of self on Twitter.
○ Q4: Why would it be useful to have an app that could manage all of your Social Media accounts in one place?
It would be helpful to check all social medias at once.
○ Q5: Were you ever hesitant on sharing any information about yourself be it on a post or creating your account? What went through your head at the time?
Yes. Interviewee has relatives who have Facebook accounts and has to restrict contents so they do not see them.
