Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Scanmed App (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Scanmed SAS (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Free service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

1. What information does the Application obtain and how is it used? The Application utilizes the device's TrueDepth API (camera system) to collect depth data and structural information of the user's torso. This data is converted into a 3D model.

The collection of this data is strictly for medical and diagnostic purposes. Specifically, the information is used to analyze chest wall deformities (Pectus Carinatum or Pectus Excavatum) and to generate a customized medical report.

2. TrueDepth API and Data Privacy To ensure transparency regarding the use of Apple’s TrueDepth API, we declare the following:

3. Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the Application? No. The data collected by the Application (the 3D model of the torso) is transmitted directly to Scanmed SAS via email for medical analysis. We do not share, sell, or rent this data to any third-party advertisers or external organizations.

4. What are my opt-out rights? You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

5. Data Retention Policy The Application creates a temporary data file for the purpose of transmission. Once the 3D model is sent to Scanmed SAS, the user may delete the data from the device. Scanmed SAS retains the medical data only as long as necessary to provide the requested medical report and in accordance with medical record retention laws.

6. Children The Application is not used to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children without parental consent. Since this is a medical application often used for pediatric or adolescent patients, we encourage parents and legal guardians to operate the Application on behalf of the child. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personally identifiable information to the Service Provider without parental supervision, please contact the Service Provider (santiago.birniescott@scanmed.com.ar).

7. Security The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. Please be aware that, although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.

8. Changes This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to their Privacy Policy by updating this page. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

9. Your Consent By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by the Service Provider.

10. Contact Us If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, or have questions about the practices, please contact the Service Provider via email at santiago.birniescott@scanmed.com.ar.
