Meet your School Counselor

Mrs. VanLouvender

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”      -Leo Buscaglia

All about me…

My name is Jennifer VanLouvender and I am the Elementary School Counselor here at Arlington Elementary. I have been working as the School Counselor here since 2000. I earned a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Lycoming College and earned my Master’s Degree in Elementary School Counseling from Marywood University. Since working at Arlington, I also earned a second Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Canyon College. On a personal note, I currently live in the Pocono’s with my husband, daughter, son and two cats. I enjoy traveling, reading, swimming and the outdoors. I look forward to working with you and your family.
