Why did you like that group better?
Which group sounded more intense? Why?
What do you think of each location for the videos?
Did the locations contribute to the feel of "pirates"?

Share a video with me by emailing it to sprykhitko@sbunified.org. It can be all or a short section!
Listen to the first 3:20 minutes of a famous piece by Antonio Vivaldi called Spring.
On a piece of paper draw what you hear. This can be animals, nature, scenery, etc. Make it colorful, just like the season...SPRING!
Enjoy this video! It's a twist on a famous classical piece, Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Liszt and a pop song, Something Just Like This!
Keep practicing our Patriotic Song! Find the link from our fist week of lessons.
Our goal is to memorize the words this week :)
First, find a spot where you have enough room to move around, with your scarf in hand.
When you are ready, click the first video and watch just the first 2 minutes. Repeat this 2-3 times until you feel comfortable and have the movements down. Don't forget, keep a steady beat!
When you feel confident, continue watching the video, starting at 2:00. Follow along with the movements while keeping a steady beat. Repeat this 2-3 times.
Do you think you can do it without the model? Click on the second video to try it with just the music.
Wrap up this piece by asking someone to record you dancing to the music with the scarf. You can email it to me at sprykhitko@sbunified.org. I'd love to watch you keep a steady beat!
Materials you will need if you have them at home:
metal can
stretchy rubber band (that can wrap around can length wise)
blank paper
pencil, colored pencils, or crayons
Directions:
Click on the video and watch it all the way through.
You can build your own instrument using the metal can and rubber band as demonstrated in the video.
Answer these questions:
a. Can you see the rubber band vibrate when you pull on it and let go?
b. Pull the rubber band softly. Pull it strongly. Do you notice something different?
After you finish watching the video, close your eyes. Listen closely to 3 sounds you can hear. Draw your 3 sounds on a piece of paper. Make it as colorful as you can!
Turn your paper over. Imagine the rubber band vibrating on your instrument. Draw a vibration on your paper.
Now you know what a sound is. Every sound is a vibration and many times we don't see it with our eyes, but our ears can hear it. I would love to see what sounds you heard and drew! Please email them to me at sprykhitko@sbunified.org! DON'T FORGET YOUR NAME! :)
Bonus!
Listen to a sound that is quiet. Draw what you hear.
Listen to a sound that is VERY loud. Draw what you hear.
*If you are emailing both activities to me, please keep them in one email so that it stays organized. I will have a LOT of emails :)
