Use lateral reading to decide if your source is credible (if you should trust it). This means opening a new tab in your browser to find information about the creator of the website as well as the author of the article.Â
Don't use Wikipedia as a source, but DO use Wikipedia to fact check unfamiliar sites or creators.
Recommended Websites:
Google currently put AI results at the top of its search page. Instead of using the AI as your source, click on the websites listed by the AI as its source of information. Evaluate those websites as you would for any other online search.
Never use AI as a primary source for your research. If you do use AI as a thinking partner, you must cite it: How to Cite AI
Do not use AI as a replacement for your own writing and thinking.
