DAY ONE: Choose a topic/issue facing teenagers. Find out more about the topic / issue and potential solutions. Choose at least 3 sources from library databases / eBooks and send them to Google Drive.
DAY TWO: Evaluate websites using the strategy lateral reading. Find 1 - 2 websites that you may use for your research. Copy / paste the URL to your notes. Practice using in-text citations to give credit to sources.
Start your search with the recommended SMHS database and eBook sources (see below). If you are not sure about your topic, spend some time browsing the issues available through the eBook collection Cameron's Collection.
After you choose your topic, spend some time skimming the articles from databases and chapters from eBooks. Choose the best sources for what you want to discuss.
Send at least 3 articles or chapters to Google Drive.
If you have time, begin reading and annotating your articles. Either print them on paper or send them to Notability. Click here for a simple research annotation guide.
