Social Issues Book Clubs

Ms. Weinbender, English 8

As you read and discuss your books, you will find yourself considering unanswered questions about relationships, family dynamics, prejudice, equity, justice, violence, poverty, immigration, environmental conservation, abuse, human rights, and other compelling issues, both large and small.

After reading, discussing, and completing some initial research, you will choose one specific topic to research and write about in depth. Finally, you will publish for your findings in a multi-genre, digital scrapbook, along with a magazine piece that could go in the school newspaper.
