Elementary-National-StandardsPoster16x20.pdf

Physical Education (PE) is an academic class with a planned, sequential PK-12 standards-based program of curriculum and instruction to develop motor skills, knowledge, and behaviors for an active life, physical fitness, sportsmanship, self-efficacy, and emotional intelligence.

PE develops students' competence and confidence in the skills to participate in a variety of physical activities both in school and out. The main objectives of PE address the three (3) domains of learning:

  • Cognitive or mental skills related to knowledge of movement.

  • Affective skills to address the growth in feelings or attitudes.

  • Psychomotor skills relate to the manual or physical skills related to movement literacy

Mrs. DeGuise

Mrs. DeGuise is a health & physical education teacher. As a young person, I really enjoyed playing soccer, basketball, and softball. I also enjoyed being a summer camp counselor, coach of youth sports, refereeing youth soccer and basketball, and being a pharmacy technician. These activities help guided me into the career of teaching health and physical education.
