We All Must Be AAU Members!

for the 2023-24 Season.
Your AAU membership must be renewed annually. Each AAU Membership year runs from September 1 to August 31. You will not be allowed to skate without an active membership. No exceptions! Please visit the AAU Site to register or renew your membership! Once you receive your "AAU Membership Confirmation" with your Membership ID number - not a "pending" notation - please send a copy of your card to "info@sbhockey.com" and to your team captain or Martha Lange. Please visit the "Additional AAU Membership Info" section below for more AAU info if you need it.

All League Registration is done online via PayPal. Just click on the link for the League you want to register for and follow the instructions. You DO NOT need a PayPal account to use a debit or credit card!
Please note - Online Registration works best with Chrome or Firefox. If you have issues with the proces, please use one of those browsers.
Additional AAU Membership Info
AAU Membership permits you to participate in AAU Club events. It also provides Sports Accident and General Liability Insurance for you and the SBRH club. The AAU’s insurance program is a benefit of membership and extends to those who are members of the AAU (athletes, non-athletes, club) or affiliated with the AAU through its members. Everyone participating must have an AAU Athlete or Non-Athlete Membership
AAU has two membership categories: Athlete and Non-Athlete
Athletes - if you skate, you need this one. Cost is $25/year for Adults, $16/year for Youth
Non-Athletes - if you are a club officer, referee, coach, you need this one - even if you already have an Athlete membership! $25/year for Adults, $16/year for Youth
If you skate in other AAU sports or with other clubs / events, select the "AB - Extended Coverage" for few $ more in either membership category.
If you are already an AAU member thru another sport, you do not need to register again, just send us a copy of your current membership card.
Parents can register for their children. The AAU site will ask you if your are registering for yourself, or others.
On navigating the AAU website:
AAU periodically rearranges their website. So if the membership link / page has changed, please just search for it. And if it behaves a little wonky, turn of your browser ad and cookie blockers if you have them enabled.
On the background check:
For adults, especially working with Youth, AAU requires a background check. This is done electronically, confidentially, similar to a credit check, and usually completes within a few hours of your membership application / renewal. SBRH does not receive any information from this check! Typically all the club receives is your entry in our online membership roster, and sometimes not even that. Which is why we need you to send a copy of your membership confirmation card, which you will get in email, to both info@sbhockey.com and your team captain / coordinator.
