MA Music students worked together to respond to 2 professional music briefs which challenge their collaborative practice, skillset and ability to work to time constraints.
The first brief asked for them to create an immersive exhibit or installation experience based on the concept of nature, beauty and the city of Glasgow through the lens of Emersons transcendental philosophy.

A Song written for Professional Music Brief 1 and then developed in collaboration with Novasound studios. This piece will be on Lou's up and coming release
The second brief asked for students to apply established music industry practice within the context of social entrepreneurship by collaborating with local residential charity River Garden to create a music event. The group made close to £1000 for the charity overall and the residents were extremely impressed with student work ethic and community mindset.
Professional Music Release encourages students to embrace the creative and entrepreneurial practices of a self-managing artist in today’s local, national, and digital music environments. The module asks students to apply DIY, songwriting, production and industry practices within the context of a music single release from inception to dissemination. Combining practice led workshops with key theories and concepts, PMR is a crash course in the world of the modern DIY artist!
Below are the finished works of our most recent PMR Students.
