How can you take a really great photo of one subject? Photograph it a ton! There are two different schools of though with photography: either we plan out every single shot and take very few photos, or on the contrary, we photograph until we get the best image. For this project you are going to photograph one subject with several different camera angles to give yourself a final grid of imagery—and maybe you'll find you like one best image but the idea is to create a whole grid. This is a practice in angles, composition, cropping in camera, and layout.
Assignment: You must photograph 1 object of interest, so try and find an object that keeps your focus and is interesting in itself. The object should have at least 20 photos taken of it in a variety of angles. Once you have photographed the image you will use CANVA to create a 6-12 frame grid of your most interesting photos like the ones above and below.
Steps:
Make sure you like the object you choose, keeping it smaller is helpful because you can photograph "in the round" by physically walking around the object ( or turning the object).
Use the mini studio box to photograph your object.
Lighting is important here, think about natural light and whether you are blocking any important light with your body and camera.
Upload your completed photo shoot to your google drive. Label the folder " MULTIPLE ANGLES"
Go to canva. Set up a frame photo like the ones above and below. Upload your photos to the project.
Examples:
What is composition?
Arrangement of elements: It's the practice of placing and organizing subjects, objects, and other visual elements within the boundaries of a photograph's frame.
Guiding the viewer's eye: Good composition draws the viewer's attention to the main subject and leads them through the image in a meaningful way.
Conveying a message: It's a tool for telling a story and expressing an idea, making the difference between a snapshot and an impactful photograph.
Controlling the scene: Photographers can influence composition by moving their position, changing their lens, or adjusting their perspective to include or exclude certain elements.
Assignment: Photograph all of the compositional techniques following the presentation above.
