About Me

My name is Ali Sayed and I am a science educator who is passionate about teaching biology and chemistry to high school students. My career in education began in 2011, when my college professor asked me to become a supplemental instructor for an introductory biology class. I really enjoyed the experience of sharing my knowledge, connecting with students, and preparing students for assessments. After graduating from college, I attended medical school for two years. Although I enjoyed medicine as a science, I didn’t feel like my passion for education was fulfilled. After spending some time as a tutor, substitute teacher, and paraprofessional, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in secondary education. I am currently working on finishing my degree and will be student teaching in spring of 2019.
