Training courses

SAVEM provides face-to-face training for volunteers through workshops. We also have on-line training which is pre-requisite for the full Level One workshop program.

In June 2018, SAVEM ran Level 1 training days in Penneshaw and Port Lincoln. The next Adelaide course is 30 September 2018.

Firey women

This award winning CFS workshop provides women with information and practical sessions in a safe non-threatening setting to learn new skills to protect their families and livelihoods.

Workshop runs in many areas, school-friendly hours.

Free - Large Animal Rescue skills workshop (held indoors)

Saturday 6 June, 1–3.30pm

University of Adelaide, Roseworthy Campus.

The workshop will look at basic scenarios and skills to work as a team to manoeuvre a large animal such as a horse or cow from a place of danger to a place of safety. We will be using “Riley” the life size mannequin horse.

Participants are invited to bring their own gloves, helmet and hi-viz vest (however there are a few to loan if required).

Tea/coffee & biscuits available. There is no special dietary catering so participants will need to bring their own snacks if required.

The workshop is held indoors.
