Christian Perfas
Workshop Description:
Does your mic work need work? Looking to gain more confidence and creativity when speaking candidly in front of an audience? Or just trying to find a way to break out of that creative slump and change the way you approach your craft? Well, you've come to the right place.
In this two hour workshop, seasoned spoken word poet and teaching artist Soul Stuf will guide you through his thoughtful process of poetic improvisation and show you how to "freestyle with finesse." With a deep background in theatre, long form improv, and hip-hop, Soul meticulously and systematically breaks down the beast of "improv" and shows how utilizing a game-based mindset on stage can ease that enormous pressure we often put on ourselves as human beings. Join your fellow patrons of poetic play in a series of writing exercises, group work, and constructive feedback and you too will leave with a bigger and better toolkit for making things up like a pro!
