7th Grade Collaboration: Science, Reading, Technology

Here is a small sampling of the characters that the students have created using Google Drawing for their Environmental Picture Books. Their fictional picture books, based on environmental novels they read in Reading Class, include links to slides that have science-related information on a selected animal or plant including population distribution, limiting factors, human impact, and solutions.

This series of images, gives a good idea of the concept that was being taught. Students are asked to create a single character, make a copy, and then make edits to create multiple versions for their story. They also have learned how to create transparent background images by downloading their characters as .png files. We are encouraging students to also organize their work by placing all images within a single folder in Google Drive.
