This will be my sixth year at Alton Central School and my twelfth year as a music teacher. I started playing music at the age of nine when my parents first signed me up for guitar lessons and I've been playing ever since. It took some time to get motivated but when I was thirteen, I was playing guitar in a band practicing on the weekends in my neighbor's garage. By the time I graduated the 8th grade, I was playing professionally at various local establishments and even getting paid! Not a bad job for a high school student! Eventually, I made my way down to Boston to study at the Berklee College of Music but transferred a year and a half later to the University of New Hampshire where I finished my degree. After graduating, I got my first teaching job at Barnstead Elementary School teaching there for six years before moving up to Alton in 2014. I still love being a music teacher and continue to play guitar professionally in New England in a wedding band. I hope to raise the bar each and every year to make the music program at ACS something truly special.
