New Day in Cincinnati?
Twenty-five plus years and counting, 6 playoff appearances in 10 years and couldn't get 1 playoff win. The point here is the Cincinnati Bengals have not won a playoff game for a long time. And the media, fans, and even people around the organization believe changes need to be made. It started last year when the Bengals hired new Head Coach Zac Taylor, but that didn't account for wins right away because the Bengals still went 2-14 and now wind up with the 1st overall pick. Does that really seem so bad now that Joe Burrow just had a career college football season and will most likely end up Number 1 overall to the Bengals? Especially since they are in need of a QB change after Andy Dalton’s tenure is over, and he really just hasn't gotten the job done for the Bengals.
The Bengals added a lot of new free agency talent which really changed the whole outlook of the defense and went out to re-sign AJ Green, which Joe Burrow hinted at wanting if he were to be picked by the Bengals. All the signs the Bengals are showing right now that he will be drafted by Cincinnati.
Joe Burrow grew up in Athens, Ohio, about two to three hours away from downtown Cincinnati. He committed to Ohio State and spent his first few seasons trying to compete for the job but just fell behind some other very good QB's. He then transferred to LSU, where he had one of the greatest college seasons ever and went on to win the National Championship which set up Joe to now be the projected number 1 pick in this year's draft. The Bengals need a new face at QB and Joe Burrow is a perfect fit. Now all we have to do is wait until April 23rd to see if the Bengals actually have the new face of the franchise in Joe Burrow.
