New Quarantine Hobbies

Quarantine has brought a lot of boredom to the world, as now everyone is confined to their homes. With the school day being shorter and the amount of school work not as much as it normally is while we are in school, it has allowed for a lot more free time. With this newfound free time on my hands, I decided to try something new. I tried to make a loaf of ciabatta bread for the first time.

Before starting the baking process, I was a bit nervous, as I feel like whenever you hear about people making bread they say that it is hard and doesn't always come out how you want it to. Regardless, I had plenty of time and I found a recipe to make a loaf of ciabatta bread. I started out the process by making the dough. That part didn’t take too long. The longest part of it all was letting it sit and rise for hours on end. Nonetheless, once I had let the dough rise, I put it in the oven and let it cook up.

Once the bread was done, I let it cool and then took a piece to try. The bread was good. It wasn’t as light and fluffy as I would have liked it to be, but it was not bad overall, and I would definitely like to try it again sometime. Next time, I think I need to let the bread rise a bit more. Regardless of it not quite coming out how I wanted it to, it was a lot of fun and I‘m happy that I tried it.
