Greetings PSD Staff!
Are you looking to become certified in CPR and First Aid? Look no further. Sarah Gagne, Dondero RN, proudly offers CPR & First Aid classes each month of the school year for district employees. The cost of the class is covered by professional development funds, so other than your time, this class is FREE to you!
Class Information:
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED provides students the highest quality training in the lifesaving skills of first aid, CPR, and use of an AED. This course empowers students to act with confidence in the event of an emergency at work, home, or in the community. The Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED course is taught in a blended learning format. Students must complete online modules followed by a hands-on skills session. Students who successfully complete the online course and skills session, will receive a Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course Completion card, valid for two years.
The AHA’s Heartsaver courses are designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs first aid and/or CPR training and a course completion card to meet job requirements. Heartsaver courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared to act in an emergency at home or in their community.
3 hour online module (depends on how quickly you move through the modules)-this is done prior to your hands on skills session
2 hour in-person skills session
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
