Athletic Eligibility

As a member schools of the NHIAA and Tri County Athletics, there are several eligibility requirements that must be satisfied in order to be eligible to participate in interscholastic athletics at Hollis Brookline High School and Hollis Brookline Middle School, in addition to our own district requirements.

Requirements

☐ FamilyID Registration

  • Must be completed by all Athletes PRIOR to the first day of try-outs

  • Registration link will be posted on Athletics homepage when available


☐ Interscholastic Athletic Agreement

  • Completed during FamilyID registration process

  • All parents and athletes must read and sign the agreement for each season


☐ Proof of Physical

  • All Athletes must have a current Proof of Physical on file from their doctor

-Within 1 calendar year for 7th and 9th graders

-Every 2 years for all other grades

  • Can be submitted to the nurse's office or uploaded to FamilyID


☐ Concussion Information

  • Completed during FamilyID registration process

  • All parents and athletes must read and sign-off on the concussion protocols


☐ Impact Testing

  • All Athletes are required to participate in Impact Testing every 2 years

  • Offered by the district before the start of each season

  • Athletes are allowed to "opt-out" of this requirement via FamilyID


☐ Academics - High School

  • Must be a full-time student

  • Must be passing 4 out of 5 full credits in the previous marking period

  • All incoming freshmen are automatically eligible for the 1st quarter

  • New, transfer, and out-of-district students should contact the AD for more information


☐ Academics - Middle School

  • Student to be passing all classes and to be demonstrating satisfactory conduct.

  • Current grades and conduct will be reviewed once during the fall and spring seasons, and twice during the winter season. Any student-athlete who has earned a failing grade or unsatisfactory conduct will be considered in-eligible to participate. The student-athlete will be notified by the Athletic Director and/or must meet with the Athletic Director and/or Assistant Principal to create a plan to improve their academic standing and/or meet behavioral guidelines. The student-athlete must follow the plan and follow-up with the Athletic Director and/or Assistant Principal in-order to be able to begin to compete again. In any circumstance, athletic eligibility is at the discretion of the school administration.
